As a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) since 1981, he has dedicated his career to providing specialized surgical care for companion animals in private referral practice.

Dr. Cechner earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 1973. He completed a rigorous internship at Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital in 1974, followed by a surgical residency at Purdue University, completing his advanced training in 1976.

His clinical expertise includes orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, and the treatment of complex joint disorders. He also has a special interest in ear canal diseases, combining surgical precision with compassionate patient care to improve quality of life for pets.
